Waitsfield, VT Waitsfield, VT Full-time Full-time $26 - $40 an hour $26 - $40 an hour Logistics Administrator Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom, a Vermont based telecommunications solutions provider, located in central Vermont, is seeking a qualified Logistics Administrator to join our team in our Waitsfield Service Area.
Responsibilities include administering the organization's purchasing and related inventory control functions to forecast, plan, and maintain a continuous flow of material in support of telephone and broadband services.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Works in concert with other logistics staff to ensure plant operations continue as planned by maintaining a continuous flow of material and equipment with a focus on loss prevention.
Facilitates this process through the origination of purchases, as well as verification and storage of material received in support of the organization's business needs.
Additionally, responsible for recording and maintaining the accuracy of inventoried items, in the appropriate database, for both local and remote warehouse locations, managing the shipping, receiving, and timely storage of all materials and equipment.
Works directly with Logistics staff to provide direction regarding warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and timely storage of all materials and equipment, as well as maintaining a consistent schedule for material pick up and drop off by contractors.
Responsible for oversight of inventory receipt and distribution to multiple locations ensuring accurate tracking, as well as maintenance of established inventory levels.
Actively participates in loss prevention strategies including assessment of current inventory.
Additionally, participates in the development of appropriate inventory and warehouse policies and procedures focused on continuously improving business processes.
Ensures all work is completed according to quality standards, always complying with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to WCVT or OSHA/VOSHA, whichever standard is higher.
Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
Lifting up to 40 lbs.
Requires frequent periods of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, as well as frequent periods of walking, sitting, standing, and crouching.
Frequently in a climate controlled environment with many distractions; however, occasionally works in the field where varying environmental and weather conditions exist.
Moderate risks associated with operating power tools and equipment.
Ability to operate and travel by automobile to various Company locations.
Extended viewing of computer monitor(s) with extensive keyboarding exposure.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent plus two or more years' purchasing knowledge and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of and experience with telephony outside plant facilities related inventory, including both copper and fiber, preferred.
Previous successful completion of OSHA-10 course, or the ability to complete within the first month of service.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to safely and successfully operate a forklift.
Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills required in order to manage multiple tasks and/or projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, friendly attitude.
Marshals resources effectively and efficiently to get things done with the ability to orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish goals.
Strong interpersonal communication skills demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with team members, partners, and vendors.
Ability to make decisions based upon limited information in non-standard situations, as well as work with minimal supervision, displaying the initiative and self-direction needed to successfully accomplish required performance objectives.
Analytical and mathematical skills necessary to diagnose, report, and resolve issues while performing necessary purchasing and inventory related responsibilities.
Comprehensive knowledge of computer application software products including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
), as well as the ability to learn and frequently use organizational database applications.
Experience with Oracle software products, specifically JDEdwards, is preferred.
